Mike was born in Germany, lived in Italy and grew up in Tampa, Florida, before his Air Force dad moved the family back to Germany for his final two years of high school. It was in a high school in Stuttgart that Mike met his future wife Kathi. Also a military brat, Kathi lived in Taiwan, Hawaii and several other states.

Both came to know Jesus as their personal savior as teenagers and dedicated their lives to serving Him. They married after their sophomore year of college. After graduating, Mike began a secular career. Kathi maintained a stable and loving home as the Lord blessed them with three children and they made multiple moves between the U.S. and Europe.

Led by God’s Spirit, Mike retired early from his career, enrolled at Columbia Biblical Seminary, and both he and Kathi prepared for pastoral ministry in the States. They were blessed to lead three local congregations in the Southeast. They were also blessed to see their children grow up in Christ, marry believing spouses and have children of their own. Mike and Kathi are wild about their twelve grandchildren.

After eight years of wonderful ministry at Grace Evangelical Free Church in Louisville, KY, Mike and Kathi sensed God’s calling to serve cross-culturally. They joined EFCA ReachGlobal, serving for a short-time in the Middle East before Mike took the role of director of leader development on the Global Equipping Team. In this capacity, the couple traveled to over 30 countries consulting and training national leaders. They served with ReachGlobal over eight years.

In November 2019, Mike and Kathi transitioned from ReachGlobal to Strategic Impact. The couple’s goal is to continue catalyzing movement-minded national leaders in character, competency and connectedness, so that these leaders in turn will seek to multiply disciples and fulfill the Great Commission in our generation.

Mike and Kathi live in Central Florida and welcome winter weary visitors.
