Can you handle the Truth?!

My son Justin and I just returned from a wonderful Leadership Conference in Ghana, West Africa. The Northern Region is 97% Islamic, and yet, over 200 people received Christ! The Gospel truly is “the power of God unto salvation.” (Rom. 1:16)

Every morning we conducted the Leadership Conference; and then every afternoon, we did saturation evangelism in an Islamic neighborhood to plant the new church. Fatimah, the mother of 5 young children, welcomed us into her home. Even though she was a practicing Muslim, she seemed eager to hear about Jesus.

I explained to her how Christ had died for our sins, was buried, and raised from the dead on the third day.

Fatimah opened her heart to invite Christ to come into her life. After she prayed to receive Christ, I asked her:

“What happened just now?”

Her face lit up: “I feel such joy! Every week I go to the mosque, but I have always had doubts, and ask myself: Is this really true?

Jesus said: “I am the way, THE TRUTH, the life;

No one comes to the Father, except through Me.” (John 14:6)

In her heart, Fatimah realized she had found THE TRUTH.

The Leadership Conference was organized by Stephen Aputara, our West Africa Strategy Director. Stephen has committed his lifetime to bring the gospel to the Islamic people of Africa. He did such a great job of casting a vision for the evangelization of West Africa, and has assembled a team of “firebreathers” who have dedicated themselves to bring the gospel to those who have not heard the message of Christ.

They have launched a Church-Planting Movement, and have already scheduled 3 new cities over the next 6 months! We are asking God to use us to launch a self-multiplying Church-Planting Movement

in each of the 14 French speaking nations of West Africa.

With all of my heart, I know this to be true: that there are millions of people would say “YES” to Jesus today,

if we will simply bring the gospel to them!
